This policy explains what personal information RG Tyre and Wheels Pty Ltd (ABN 79 658 400 910), trading as RG Tyre & Wheels ("we", "us"), collects through this website, why we collect it and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
Through this website we only collect what we need to answer your enquiry:
- Enquiry form: your name, phone number, the tyre size or registration you give us, and whatever you write in the message box.
- If you email or call us: your contact details and what you tell us.
- Automatically: standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. See the Cookie Policy.
We do not ask for your date of birth, address, licence details or payment details through this website. Please don't send us that information through the enquiry form.
The typefaces on this site are served from our own server, so using this site does not share your details with a font provider.
How the enquiry form works
The enquiry form sends your details to info@rgtyrewheels.com. If the form can't send directly it falls back to opening your own email program with the message pre-filled, so nothing you typed is lost. Either way the details are not stored on this website.
Why we collect it
- To quote on tyres or wheels and answer your question
- To contact you about work you've asked us to do
- To keep records of jobs and to meet our legal obligations
- To understand how people find the website, if you've agreed to analytics cookies
We will not send you marketing messages unless you ask us to, and if we ever do you can opt out at any time. This is also our obligation under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not trade or rent it to anyone.
We share limited information with service providers who help us run the website and our advertising:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and processes technical data such as IP addresses for security and delivery.
- Google (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads) provides measurement and advertising tools. These only run if you accept non-essential cookies.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the provider's own contractual and security commitments.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and job records for as long as we need them for the job and for our tax and warranty records, generally up to seven years, then delete or destroy them.
Keeping it secure
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We take reasonable steps to protect information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Getting access, or fixing something
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us on 0422 222 117 or info@rgtyrewheels.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days. There's no charge for asking.
Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, tell us first and we'll try to sort it out. If you're not happy with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Children
This website is aimed at adults arranging tyre work. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page.
